Ochsner's Clinical Simulation & Patient Safety Center has hosted MedEdCombine which live streamed to a nationwide audience, demonstrating novel approaches to pain management.

Ochsner Flight Care trains in our center frequently. Here is a video of training done in the helicopter to bring the most up-to-date care to our most vulnerable patients.

This is our 4th year with UQ Medical Students participating in a surgical boot camp put together by Dr. Bruce Cleland.

The Ochsner Clinical Simulation and Patient Safety Center works with Academic Outreach to provide local high school students an opportunity to experience simulation and skills. Most recently, Archbishop Chapelle, Academy of Our Lady, and St. Augustine have brought students that are interested in a future in the medical field. The students were able to practice various skills on task trainers such as, CPR, intubation, removing a foreign object from a child’s mouth, stop the bleed, laparoscopic skills, and even participated in a Mock Code and a C-section delivery.

Ochsner hosted SOGH for their hands-on simulation component in September 2017 when their national conference was held in New Orleans. Under the guidance of Ochsner physician Dr. Brigid McCue and center director Dr. Mike Smith, the group held three days of intensive training to better prepare obgyns to respond to critical emergencies.
