Ochsner’s Division of Academics offers pathway programs and experiences to undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career as a physician, physician assistant, or researcher in the biomedical sciences.

CURE - Collaborative Undergraduate Research Experience

Work alongside physicians and PhDs at medical research labs at Ochsner over a six week period in the summer and receive a stipend. In addition to working on specific research projects, attend medical student lectures and grand rounds, participate in professional development activities, and receive one-on-one mentoring.

Ochsner Academics Summer Internship for Students (OASIS)

For undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career as a physician, physician assistant, or researcher in the biomedical sciences. OASIS is offered as a benefit to Ochsner employees for their children interested in applying to a medical or PA school.

Summer Surgical and ENT Internship

Ochsner Program To Introduce Medicine to Underrepresented Students (OPTIMUS)

Work with mentors at Ochsner from underrepresented backgrounds to learn about career options, hands-on simulations, experiments and tips on preparing for careers in medicine.

University of Queensland - Ochsner Clinical School

A four year Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, of which the first two years (pre-clinical) is spent at UQ's Queensland campuses (Brisbane) and the final two years (clinical) is spent at UQ's Ochsner Clinical School (New Orleans). Learn More.
