2022 Upcoming Rotation Exploration
In September 2019, Ochsner signed an affiliation agreement for an exchange observation program for graduate medical students with Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, and Universidad CES in Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia.
In 2022, Yvens Laborde, MD, Medical Director of Global Health Education and Public Health along with a special team from Ochsner Health travelled to Colombia to explore the possibilities for Global Health rotations for learners in GME and UQ, OCS.
The trip included:
- Salvador Suau, MD, GME Program Director for Emergency Medicine at Ochsner
- Denrick Cooper, MD, Emergency Medicine Physician at Ochsner
- Ana Hands, MD, VP-Transplant & International Development at Ochsner
- Humberto Bohorquez, MD, Surgical Director for Pancreas Transplantation Program at Ochsner and a graduate of Javeriana University in Bogotá, Colombia
- Claudia Medina, MD, Director-International Services at Ochsner and graduate of Javeriana University in Bogota Colombia
