Jessalynn Cordaro, PharmD

Dr. Cordaro started practicing at Ochsner Medical Center’s Anticoagulation clinic in 2003. She is responsible for monitoring and evaluating anticoagulant medication therapy for appropriateness, including devising coumadin and lovenox medication regimens, making necessary adjustments based on patient-specific characteristics, and providing patient education to reach optimal patient care outcomes.

Dr Cordaro is also involved in education services as the preceptor of pharmacy students and pharmacy practice residents. She serves on the clinical pharmacy staff of presenters for the University of Queensland-Ochsner Medical Center Education program. She is also a member of the Anticoagulation Forum.

Dr. Gillis graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2018 and completed her PGY1 residency in 2019 at the Central Alabama VA. From 2019-2022 she worked in acute care Internal Medicine and in the ambulatory Transitions of Care and Anticoagulation Clinics at Ochsner’s LSU Health location. She joined the Ochsner Virtual Anticoagulation Management Program’s team in 2022 and is responsible for providing anticoagulant medication therapy as well as helping guide the team’s support staff and PGY1 pharmacy residents. Of note, Dr. Gillis was awarded Preceptor of the Year by the Ochsner LSU Health PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program in 2022.
