Michael Smith, MD, MBA CPE, FACEP, Director, Ochsner Clinical Simulation and Patient Safety Center, and Professor, The University of Queensland has been appointed to the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Education Committee.

Dr. Smith’s term begins with the organizational committee meeting during ACEP22, the College’s Annual Conference, being held October 1-4, 2022 in San Francisco, CA.

The ACEP Education Committee serves the College’s membership to enhance ACEP’s position as the primary source for state-of-the-art emergency medicine education. Dr. Smith will contribute to the committee’s work including forming strategic partnerships that contribute to the College’s educational and CME mission and identifying educational resources that focus on health care disparities.

ACEP represents more than 38,000 emergency physicians, emergency medicine residents, and medical students. ACEP promotes the highest quality of emergency care and is the leading advocate for emergency physicians and their patients, and the public.
