Our research program encourages fellowship candidates to participate in ongoing research projects or to initiate a new investigational project. Departmental financial and intellectual support is available with clinical or basic projects. This support includes dedicated time during the week exclusively committed to research and scholarly activities. The fellowship program provides ample research opportunities in collaboration with colleagues in surgery, hematology, hepatology and intensive care as well as other subspecialties. Direct and close mentoring is available for all fellows to help facilitate completion of projects throughout the fellowship. Fellows are expected to complete submission of a manuscript for peer-review and eventual publication.
