Why Infectious Diseases?
I loved my microbiology class and lab as an undergraduate, especially on topics such as bacteria and tropical diseases. I also like the fact that in
infectious diseases, the diagnosis is not always obvious because the field is vast and has a lot of variety so you must use critical and analytical
thinking to find the diagnosis and create appropriate treatment plans.
Why Ochsner?
A major and well-respected academic center of excellence, well-versed faculty, the patient population it serves, and the work-life balance which
allows time to explore New Orleans.

Why Infectious Diseases?
I love the variety of cases you can see in infectious disease and the amount of detective work that is involved in those
cases. I enjoy being able to have a combination of patients that are followed for a long period of time (HIV) and others
that have acute infections that improve quickly. I have also always been interested in micro, so this is the perfect
field for me.
Why Ochsner?
The welcoming faculty, the patient population, the great education, the schedule that allows for work-life balance, and
of course the exciting city of New Orleans.
