Why Infectious Diseases?
I love the variety of cases you can see in infectious disease and the amount of detective work that is involved in those
cases. I enjoy being able to have a combination of patients that are followed for a long period of time (HIV) and others
that have acute infections that improve quickly. I have also always been interested in micro, so this is the perfect
field for me

I decided to pursue Infectious Disease after an away rotation. I love how rewarding it can be to see
patients improve in a short course of time, the diagnostic approach required, the variety of pathology it
brings and lastly the investigative skills required to do this. I also have a keen interest in Critical Care
Infectious Diseases.
