The research program within the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine is robust and revolves around a large clinical research program involving interventional and observational trials.

The Ochsner Clinic Foundation supports a Biospecimen & Core Research Laboratory that supports translational research projects. Within Ochsner Health, as well as across the Ochsner Health Network of partner institutions, all clinical care data, including ultrasound imaging, is housed in a single electronic medical record system facilitating large data projects, especially those focused on epidemiology, outcomes, and quality.

While clinical, epidemiologic and translational projects are the most common among the ongoing research protocols, for fellows who wish to pursue basic science research collaborative arrangement can be explored with our affiliated institutions of Ochsner-LSU Shreveport or University of Queensland.

The Ochsner Center for Clinical Research Assistance (OCRA) provides guidance in study design, data collection and statistical support for all IRB-approved research projects, regardless of funding status.
