I knew right away that Ochsner was a great fit for me. It is a busy tertiary center with exposure to a wide variety of vascular procedures, from bread and butter surgeries to complex endovascular aortic operations. Also, the attendings are approachable and incredibly invested in teaching and mentoring the fellows. I felt that training here would prepare me very well for the boards and enable me to take my career any direction I wanted after graduating.
After interviewing at Ochsner, I immediately knew this was the place for me. Learning how to operate and manage wide variety of complex vascular pathology under some of the most experienced and well trained faculty mentors, who were all trained at top institutions around the country, in a family-like environment was exactly what I was looking for in a fellowship. To top it all off, living in New Orleans is pretty amazing. I would chose Ochsner again if I had a choice.
