When I was looking at vascular surgery fellowships, Ochsner stood out in a few ways. First, the faculty, staff, and fellows all embrace a supportive environment, it feels like one big family here. The case volume and variety is exactly what I was hoping for, I feel like at the end of my two years here I will have the experience I need to be a well trained vascular surgeon. The attendings make a point to prioritize our education and they each bring a little piece of their own training to the table to enrich ours. Finally, the training is set in the city of New Orleans whose rich culture, history, and cuisine speak for itself.

When I was choosing a Vascular Fellowship, the most important things to me was a training program that would prepare me for the future and collegial environment. I have to say that the program has been tremendous: the operative breath, the quality of the education and focus on fellow’s experience, the early operative autonomy have all been outstanding. However, I think the greatest asset that Ochsner has is that it truly feels like a family here. From the attendings, support staff, to the OR staff that you work with day in and day out are the most welcoming people and make being here such a pleasure and wonderful experience!
