When I was choosing a Vascular Fellowship, the most important things to me was a training program that would prepare me for the future and collegial environment. I have to say that the program has been tremendous: the operative breath, the quality of the education and focus on fellow’s experience, the early operative autonomy have all been outstanding. However, I think the greatest asset that Ochsner has is that it truly feels like a family here. From the attendings, support staff, to the OR staff that you work with day in and day out are the most welcoming people and make being here such a pleasure and wonderful experience!

Vascular surgery can be a difficult and demanding specialty. It requires a robust and comprehensive training to be able to practice safely and efficiently, whether that is at a quaternary high-powered academic institution or a community program with limited resources and support. The training foundation over two years at the prestigious Ochsner Clinic is excellent and allows you to confidently enter either career path. Additionally, from the first interview, it was clear that Ochsner is a family that you join on day 1 and will last long after fellowship ends. The food, music, and culture are just icing on the cake.
