Literature Search Request
Our medical librarians provide literature searches on biomedical or health care-related topics. There is no charge to Ochsner staff and employees for this service. Every effort is made to meet any deadlines.
If your search is for a specific journal article, use ILLiad, our document delivery and interlibrary loan system. Most requests are filled within one business day.
If your search is for patient care, call 504-842-3760 so we may handle your request promptly. If you want to conduct the search on your own but are unfamiliar with our databases and resources, contact the Medical Library to schedule a session with one of our medical librarians.
Please note that literature searches are not performed for medical students and allied health students. Learning how to search medical literature and references is part of student training.
Patients and their family members seeking educational information on a medical condition or a diagnosis should send a request by email to medicallibrary@ochsner.org.
