Eligibility - The University of Queensland, Ochsner Clinical School Ochsner Physician Scholars Program
Eligibility (UQ, OCS Year 3 and Year 4)
Currently enrolled as a Year 3 or Year 4 medical student in The University of Queensland, Ochsner Clinical School
with an expected graduation date of December 2024 or 2025 and plans to match into Family Medicine, Internal Medicine
Primary Care, Internal Medicine Pediatrics Primary Care (dual certification), or Psychiatry in the NRMP Match.
In good academic standing.
Successfully passed USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 CK examinations on the first attempt.
Good academic standing
Not failed or been required to repeat any rotations or courses during medical school enrollment.
No academic gaps: approved leave of absences will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Priority consideration will be given to applicants from a diverse or underrepresented population as defined by the
Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC): Those racial and ethnic populations that are underrepresented
in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population.
Commitment to Family Medicine, Internal Medicine Primary Care, Internal Medicine Pediatrics Primary Care (dual
certification) or Psychiatry.
Understand that the execution of an Ochsner Physician Scholar Retention Agreement is required which secures the
Scholar’s Commitment to return to Ochsner Health for full-time employment for a minimum of five (5) years after
completion of residency.
Must submit completed application and all required documents no later than March 1, 2024.
