Clearance and Preparation for Rotation

School placement personnel should closely monitor email to be alerted to any changes, incomplete steps, or other important information.

  • Students should review all Student Resources in preparation for their clinical experience.
  • Parking policies are strictly enforced and may result in removal from clinical rotation if a student is found parking in patient areas, in the garage at Main Campus, and in other prohibited locations. Please refer to the Student Handbook for site-specific guidance. Print and complete the Ochsner Student Parking Permit. This permit must be displayed on the vehicle’s dashboard.
  • Access to Epic, Ochsner’s electronic medical record system, is limited to select programs. Any students from these programs who have been cleared for rotation will receive credentials and instructions for log in via email from ISProvisioning 1-2 weeks before the start of the clinical rotation. If you are a student having difficult accessing Epic, review these steps to gain Epic access. If you are still unable to log in, ensure you have enrolled your three security questions in MyPassword before calling the IS Service Desk at 504-842-3610.
  • Following the clinical education experience, all students will receive an email invitation for feedback regarding their clinical education experience with Ochsner Health. Student input through this short survey is essential for ensuring a positive and effective clinical education experience for future students.
