Dr. Casey’s scope of practice centers on transitions of care and ensuring each patient is able to afford all medications on discharge. Medication Reconciliation has been one of her passions since residency. Thus, she has aided in the development of the role of the Medication History Technician from its infancy years ago and continues to help in the expansion of this role throughout the system. Additionally, she takes pride in opening the lines of communication between everyone involved in the patient's care in order to improve our patients' outcomes. Besides several hospital-wide committees, Dr. Casey serves on the Internal Medicine Residency Advisory Committee and the Pharmacy Residency Education Committee.

Dr. Dermady joined Ochsner Medical Center in 2014. She is a preceptor for the internal medicine learning experience for pharmacy students, PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents. Dr. Dermady enjoys educating, working with a multi-disciplinary team, and problem solving. She was designated as Assistant Clinical Professor at Xavier University College of Pharmacy. Dr. Dermady also serves on the residency recruitment committee, is chair of the student education committee, and education coordinator for the pharmacy student residency track program.

Dr. Hassan recently joined the internal medicine team at Ochsner Medical Center in 2024. She rounds with the internal medicine teaching service to help optimize pharmacologic management of a variety of diseases, facilitate transitions of care, and educate a variety of learners on pharmacy topics. She is passionate about education and is looking forward to taking students and residents on rotation in the coming year.

Dr. Kinan joined Ochsner Medical Center in 2022. Prior to that he completed a PGY-1 residency and later worked as a staff and clinical pharmacist at a regional medical center in Las Vegas, Nevada. He now works with an internal medicine teaching team and will precept pharmacy students and residents. Dr. Kinan also serves on the glycemic committee working closely with endocrinology.

Dr. Mizuki started practicing at Ochsner Medical Center in August 2015 with the Internal Medicine service. She enjoys educating pharmacy students and residents. She currently rounds with the co-managed hepatology-medicine service for patients being worked up for a liver transplant. She is RPD of the PGY-2 Internal Medicine program and serves as a residency tract student advisor.

Dr. Savage re-joined the Ochsner team in January 2024. Prior to that, she worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Louisiana Monroe with a clinical practice site in Internal Medicine at University Medical Center New Orleans. Heather provides care to patients on an academic Internal Medicine team through optimizing drug therapy, facilitating transitions of care and providing education to patients, residents, and students. She currently serves as a preceptor for the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY-2 Internal Medicine Pharmacy Residency and is the Residency Program Coordinator for the PGY-1 program. Additionally, Heather serves as the Pharmacy Residency Education Committee Chair and is an Associate Lecturer with the University of Queensland Medical School / Ochsner Clinical School and enjoys working closely with residents and students on their educational endeavors throughout the year.
