In order to be considered for a position with the Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology Program at Ochsner Health, the following conditions must be met or achieved by the start of the fellowship:

  1. Completion of all doctoral requirements
    At the time the fellow’s degree is conferred, all necessary licensure conditions must be met, as outlined in the Louisiana Administrative Code, title 46, part LXIII.
  2. Eligiblility for provisional licensure from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (LSBEP)
    Application for provisional license must be completed by the fellow immediately after receipt of their doctoral degree and it will be the responsibility of the fellow to follow-up with LSBEP regularly to check on the status of their provisional license to ensure its timely completion. Fees associated with provisional licensure and EPPP will be the responsibility of the fellow.
  3. Submission of a completed application to include:
    • A current CV
    • A completed and signed Request for Information (RFI) form (please request from Barbara Brown, as seen below)
    • Three (3) letters of recommendation
      • at least one (1) letter coming from someone who is familiar with the applicant’s clinical work during internship
      • at least one (1) letter coming from someone affiliated with the applicant’s doctoral training program.

  4. Participation in interviews with select program and administrative staff
  5. Have met the definition for Psychology-Associate Staff, Category I
    As outlined by the Credentialing Verification Office (CVO) at Ochsner Health, who will be responsible for verifying your credentials after the position has been accepted but before the fellow can begin work. Category I refers to, “Psychologists with these privileges have had formal training experience, and ability in their stated field of Clinical Psychology but have not yet fulfilled every requirement for state licensure by the Louisiana State Board of Examiners of Psychologists. They function under direct supervision of a licensed staff psychologist.”
  6. Attendance at department orientation, institution orientation, and Epic training
  7. A reliable personal cell phone to be used as needed to communicate with supervisors and scheduling staff during working hours
