Dr. Beth Arredondo practices neuropsychology at Ochsner Health in Covington, Louisiana. She is board certified in clinical neuropsychology. She completed a B.S. in psychology at Louisiana State University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She completed a general internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts. She joined the Ochsner team in 2017, and she is actively engaged in clinical work, forensic work, and research. Clinical populations of interest include individuals with a wide range of neurological and psychiatric concerns. Forensic work spans criminal and civil forensic settings, and she provides neuropsychological and forensic services to Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System. Her research interests involve the use and utility of neuropsychology in various settings and in innovations in assessment and care management. Dr. Arredondo co-directs the Clinical Neuropsychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at Ochsner. She is actively involved in professional service, with service positions in national neuropsychology and forensic psychology organizations. She received the Early Career Service Award of the National Academy of Neuropsychology in 2015, and she served as President of NAN in 2022.

epilepsy, stroke, and primary psychiatric disorders. Her research interests involve the use and utility of
neuropsychology in various settings, the impact of secondary factors on cognitive functioning, and
performance/symptom validity. She routinely conducts presentations at national and local organizations.

Dr. Brian Mizuki completed pre- and post-doctoral specialty training in clinical neuropsychology. Dr. Mizuki received his Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD) from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology (ISPP-Chicago) upon completion of a pre-doctoral internship at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center, with a specific focus in neuropsychology. Following his internship, he concluded his training with a two-year fellowship in neuropsychology at the University of Virginia Medical Center Department of Neurology. He joined the Ochsner Department of Neurology in 2014 and obtained board certification in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABBP-CN) in 2016. He specializes in assessing the cognitive functioning of adults with a wide range of conditions, including Alzheimer's disease (and other dementias), movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and stroke. Dr. Sawyer is a lifespan neuropsychologist trained to evaluate children,
adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Dr. Sawyer was born in Gulfport, MS and graduated from
Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. He was awarded his MS from University of Southern Mississippi
and his Ph.D. in Psychology from The University of Memphis. He completed his internship at the
Memphis VA Medical Center. He concluded his training with a 2-year fellowship in Neuropsychology
at the Maryland VA Health Care System. Afterward, he remained on staff as a Neuropsychologist at
the Baltimore VA Medical Center where he was also the Assessment Training Co-Coordinator for the
VA Maryland Health Care System and University of Maryland Medical School Psychology Internship
Program.
For adults/geriatrics, Dr. Sawyer has particular interest in Alzheimer’s disease
(and other types of dementia or memory disorders), concussion/TBI, stroke, movement disorders
(e.g., Parkinson’s disease), seizures, Multiple Sclerosis, Infectious Diseases (HIV, Hepatitis
C), and psychiatric concerns. For children/adolescents/young adults, Dr. Sawyer has interest in
Learning Disorders (e.g., Dyslexia), concussion/TBI, neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g.,
Intellectual Disability, ADHD), and seizures.
Outside of Dr. Sawyer’s primary clinical
work, he is particularly interested in brain health and ways to prevent cognitive decline (e.g.,
smoking cessation, exercise, nutrition, and other healthy behaviors). He provides evaluations
and expertise in legal contexts. Dr. Sawyer has supervised several neuropsychology trainees and
was an affiliate faculty member at Loyola University Maryland and Towson University in Maryland.

Dr. Brickell received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh and
her master and doctoral degrees
from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She completed her internship at the Miami VA Medical Center, as
well as an
APPCN-accredited residency in clinical neuropsychology at the VA North Texas in Dallas. Dr. Brickell has
been on
staff at Ochsner since 2019. Her expertise is in cognition and neuropsychology, particularly
neuropsychological
concerns related to aging and dementia. Her research focuses on the development of machine learning tools to
identify pre-clinical Alzheimer's disease.

Dr. Bern Lee completed his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Nevada,
Las Vegas where he had a strong
training emphasis on neuropsychological assessment and research. He completed his pre-doctoral internship at
the
Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, MI, in the Neuropsychology track. He then continued his neuropsychology
training at the University of Virginia Health System/ Western State Psychiatric Hospitals APPCN-member
neuropsychology fellowship program, where he served as chief fellow during his second year. He specializes
in
assessment of cognitive and daily living changes that may occur in a broad range of neurologic concerns;
chiefly
dementia syndromes, traumatic brain injury (TBI) and concussion, Epilepsy, Stroke, central nervous system
infections, and psychiatric illness. His research focuses on development of neuropsychological tests and
normative
data, central nervous system sequelae of neurodegenerative disease, and cognition in serious mental illness,
particularly schizophrenia spectrum disorders.
