Overview

Athletic Venue Coverage: Ochsner Health Sports Residents will complete athletic venue coverage at local universities and high schools. Our sports residents complete their event coverage under the supervision of Certified Athletic Trainers on the sidelines of games, during practices and in the athletic training room.

Didactic Curriculum: Didactic learning is offered primarily through weekly residency live lectures and labs on topics relating to sports physical therapy. Overlapping with our orthopedic residency program provides a comprehensive curriculum. Guided research activity is threaded throughout the program with the residents choosing a project based on their interests and available resources. Residents will have teaching opportunities as lab assistants in a local DPT program.
