It is with great pride we welcome your interest in the Cardiovascular Medicine Fellowship program. The John Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute (JOHVI) is a comprehensive cardiac and vascular tertiary and quaternary care center, providing innovative, compassionate care to an ever-expanding community in the Gulf South Region. With a nationally renowned physician group, we are able to provide for our patients throughout the continuum of care, from prevention to advanced therapies for heart failure, with access to cutting edge technology across the spectrum in Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Imaging, and Heart Failure.

A core part of our mission has always been to provide the ultimate training experience for the current and next generation of Cardiologists. As Chief of the Department, my goals are to continue to make the teaching and core clinical experiences here unparalleled. We accomplish this with the large volumes and highly complex patients that come to a quaternary care center, and our faculty ensure that you will be well prepared to meet the demands of practicing Cardiovascular Medicine. Furthermore, our fellows are uniquely prepared for sub-specialty training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Interventional Cardiology and Heart Failure.

Our faculty have interests that span the whole continuum of cardiovascular care. This diversity helps make the Ochsner program unique in its expertise and excellence and we stand together in our understanding that we owe the people who come to our training program our very best. We have a long tradition of developing outstanding clinicians and teachers, and it has been a privilege to see those that we have trained become our peers, both here and at other programs.
