Welcome to the Urology training program at Ochsner Health!
Our goal is to train the next generation of urologists while fostering an atmosphere of collegiality. We have an excellent track record of preparing residents for either private practice or academics. We pride ourselves on not only training excellent surgeons and clinicians but also having an enjoyable environment to train.
The foundation of our program is a diverse group of faculty. Most of the faculty are fellowship trained, and we have faculty from every subspecialty represented. The faculty are on the leading edge of their fields in urologic oncology, female urology, andrology, endourology, male infertility, and stone disease. Each faculty member prides themselves in training fantastic graduates.
Residents have a tremendous amount of autonomy in our program. There is also the opportunity to engage in numerous research projects ranging from basic science, clinical studies, and/or quality improvement initiatives.
We take resident feedback seriously and are always looking for ways to improve our program. We want residents to have fun while training here. We host a variety of social events and resident nights out. Being in New Orleans also offers a great opportunity to enjoy wonderful food and countless festivals and events such as Mardi Gras.
If you train here, you will experience an environment that fosters great clinical training, resident autonomy, and resident satisfaction. I’m proud to say that many of our alumni are not only great clinicians but also great friends.
