Letter from the Program Director - Urology Residency Program

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the urology residency program at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Ochsner Health is an integrated health care system, which has dramatically expanded its presence in the Gulf South over the course of the past fifteen years. The Urology residency training program is based at the Ochsner Medical Center (OMC) in New Orleans. At OMC, you will benefit from a diverse experience because of our high clinical volume and emphasis on resident autonomy. Our extensive primary care network ensures that at OMC you are well-versed in general urology, while our position as a large regional referral center will prepare you to manage the most complex urology patients and pathology.

As a result of our clinical volume and the growth of our department, we recently expanded our residency match complement to 3 residents per year in 2021. Our department continues to re-invest in our faculty, technology and consequently our resident experience so that not only do our patients benefit from cutting-edge urologic care, but also our residents learn/master the most contemporary urologic practices. Some examples include a comprehensive robotics program with stand-alone simulation, ExactVu micro-ultrasound, HIFU, and thulium and high-watt holmium laser therapies.

At Ochsner, we are looking for a diverse group of empathic residents who value a team approach to patient care.
