Juan Gimenez, MD, specializes in radiology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Juan M. Gimenez is an interventional radiologist currently serving as the Section Head of Interventional Radiology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Gimenez completed his medical degree at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Ochsner Health. He further honed his expertise through a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. His work primarily centers around cancer treatments with a focus on liver and lung cancer. Dr. Gimenez also has an interest in palliative pain management for cancer patients, and improving healthcare access. Dr. Gimenez's contributions to the field extend beyond clinical practice. He has been actively involved in various committees and professional organizations, including the Association of Chiefs in Interventional Radiology, the Society of Interventional Oncology, and the American College of Radiology. His research has been supported by grants and his work has been published in journals such as Cancers, Radiology and The Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology. He currently serves as co-investigator and investigator on multiple trials in conjunction with Transplant Surgery and Oncology. He has also presented his findings and has been invited to speak at major conferences and contributed to educational resources for medical students and professionals.

Dr. Patrick Gilbert earned a master of science degree and a doctor of medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine located in New Orleans, LA. He then completed a surgical internship with the Ochsner Clinic Foundation. Dr. Gilbert went on to complete a radiology residency and a vascular/interventional radiology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. His published interests include challenging arterial and venous access, particularly radial artery access for uterine and oncologic interventions, and percutaneous ablation therapies.

Dennis Kay, MD, specializes in radiology at Ochsner Health. A New Orleans native, Dr. Kay received his undergraduate education at Tulane University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his Internship and Radiology Residency at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans and served as Chief Resident during his senior year. He then completed a Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Dr. Kay is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology and he has earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Vascular and Interventional Radiology. Dr. Kay is a former Board Member of the New Orleans Radiology Society, a Past President of the Radiological Society of Louisiana and a Past President of the Radiology Section of the Southern Medical Association. He has served as Councilor for the American College of Radiology and Oral Examiner for the American Board of Radiology. He has also served as Chairman of the Technical Exhibits Committee for the Radiological Society of North America. He is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology and a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology. Dr. Kay joined the staff at Ochsner Clinic in 1986. He served as Section Head of Interventional Radiology from 1990 to 1999 and Associate Chairman of the Department of Radiology from 1999 to 2006. He served as Interim Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Ochsner Medical Center New Orleans from May 2006 to December 2006. In January 2007, he was appointed Chairman of the Radiology Department at Ochsner Medical Center and later that year he was appointed System Chair of Radiology for the Ochsner Health System. Dr. Kay stepped down from that role in 2024 after serving as Radiology System Chair for 17 years. Dr. Kay served two terms on the Board of Directors for Ochsner Health System and he is a Past President of the Medical Staff of Ochsner Clinic Foundation.

Tyler Sandow, MD, specializes in diagnostic and interventional radiology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Tyler Sandow has been fortunate to spend almost his entire life in Louisiana. After graduating from Louisiana State University, he received a medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He then completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans. Following residency, he received fellowship training at Georgetown University Hospital, gaining invaluable experience in interventional oncology, portal hypertension, peripheral vascular disease and uterine fibroid embolization. Dr. Sandow remains an active researcher in the field of interventional radiology and interventional oncology, having presented or published over 100 scientific presentations, abstracts and peer-reviewed publications in journals such as Radiology, Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, Cancers and Journal of Hepatocellular Carcinoma. He has been an invited speaker at international meetings, including the Society of Interventional Radiology and the Society of Interventional Oncology. In collaboration with transplant surgery, he has been a co-investigator on several grant funded trials. Dr. Sandow says in his own words, I chose to become a doctor based on a desire to have a meaningful impact in someone's life for the better, to help in a time of need. As an interventional radiologist, I have the ability to use cutting-edge, minimally-invasive techniques to treat conditions throughout the body, such as cancer, bleeding, blood clots, fibroids, liver disease, leg pain and infection, among other conditions, all while leaving behind no more than a band-aid. The goal of my practice is not only to provide optimal care of patients, but to also make sure that all my patients are well-informed about treatment plans and therapeutic options as well as comfortable throughout the entire process from initial consultation to follow-up care. Additionally, I think it's incredibly important to maintain open dialogue with referring providers to keep them updated on their patients.
