The mission of the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism Fellowship Program at Ochsner Medical Center is to educate fellows in a primarily clinical setting solidly grounded by large clinical and procedural volumes and faculty strongly engaged in clinical and didactic teaching. We incorporate a diverse training ground which boasts a tertiary care center, sub specialized clinics and advanced training in the fields of neck ultrasonography, fine needle aspiration and DXA readings.

The Section on Endocrinology of the Department of Internal Medicine offers a 2-year fellowship designed to prepare the participant for the broad practice of this subspecialty. Fellows will also be eligible to take the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) subspecialty examination in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases upon completion of the fellowship.

All OMC Endocrine Fellowship candidates should have completed at least 3 years of post-graduate Internal Medicine training and be board-certified by the beginning of their first fellowship year of soon thereafter.
