The breadth of vascular diseases treated at Ochsner is excellent. There is a balanced exposure to peripheral arterial occlusive disease, cerebral vascular disease, aneurysmal disease, venous disease and dialysis access procedures. The Vascular Surgery section is actively involved in multiple clinical trials in all major vascular beds including carotid (CREST-2, ACT-1), peripheral (VIBRANT), and aneurysmal (Cook Fenestrated Endograft and TX-2). We have a dedicated endovascular operating room with built-in state-of-the-art imaging. Ochsner is a recognized leader in the Southeast for endovascular treatment of aneurysms.

Educational conferences include a bi-weekly vascular conference in which the fellow participates with the vascular staff in the education of general surgery residents. A weekly case conference is held with the fellows, faculty and general surgery residents on their vascular rotation. There is a monthly vascular journal club attended by the vascular surgical staff and fellows from Ochsner and other local academic institutions. Finally, there are multidisciplinary, interventional, and stroke conferences that are also available to augment the fellows' education.
