Mission and Aims - Internal Medicine Residency Program

At Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center (OLGMC) Internal Medicine Residency, we strive to be medical and academic leaders who will change and save lives. Aims

  1. provide customized training and core training in internal medicine which ensures a broad exposure to acute, chronic and complex medical pathologies
  2. provide excellent training and mentorship in quality improvement and patient safety as scholarship to be used throughout their careers
  3. educate compassionate and skilled internists who seek to practice patient-centered care
  4. provide experience in translating clinical and scholarly work into advocacy to continue the process of advancement in internal medicine practices locally, regionally and nationally
