Professional Editing
The Publishing Services group offers professional editing services to all departments throughout the Ochsner Health System. We will meet individually with you or will work with you via email and phone—whichever method is most convenient for you. We can assist with any form of written communication:
- Articles—medical, scientific, administrative, general interest
- Books and book chapters
- Abstracts
- Reports
- Presentations
- Newsletters
- Research Day abstracts and posters
- Entries for resident writing awards
- Reference verification and formatting
- CVs and personal statements
We also present writing workshops. Call for information and scheduling.
Scholarly Publishing Blog
The Publishing Services group maintains a scholarly publishing blog with information about trends, ethics, and new requirements in academic publishing.
Publications Tracking
Publishing Services maintains the systemwide publications database and will provide reports on request. The publications database includes all published articles by Ochsner-affiliated authors from 2009 to the present.

Ochsner Journal
Ochsner’s Publishing Services group produces the Ochsner Journal, a quarterly peer-reviewed medical journal that is indexed at PubMed Central.
All articles in the Ochsner Journal are assigned PubMed ID numbers and are returned in PubMed searches.
We do not charge page publication fees or open-access fees. Internal distribution is primarily via the quarterly electronic table of contents.
Articles in the Ochsner Journal are viewed by more than 100,000 unique users who access more than 145,000 journal pages at PubMed Central each month.
