Dr. Jarret Brashear is originally from north Louisiana where he attended Louisiana Tech University as an undergraduate. After completion of his undergraduate studies, he moved to New Orleans to attended medical school at Louisiana State University where he earned his Medical Doctorate.

Dr. Brashear then went on to complete his general surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and has been practicing at Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner since 2017.

Jacob Dowden, MD, specialized in general and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery at Ochsner Health. He is originally from Scott, Louisiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and medical degree from LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Adwoa Opoku-Boateng, MD, is an endocrine surgical oncologist at Ochsner Health dedicated to treating patients in New Orleans and Metairie, Louisiana. She specializes in the advanced management of complex thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal conditions. To help her patients get the best results, she offers advanced treatments and leads the development of Ochsner’s minimally invasive thyroid radiofrequency ablation program, a treatment for certain thyroid nodules that does not require traditional surgery.

After spending several years practicing in Arizona, these strong ties drew her back to New Orleans in the fall of 2024.

Dr. Adwoa Opoku-Boateng earned her Doctor of Medicine from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. She completed her general surgery residency at Ochsner Health before pursuing endocrine surgery fellowship training through a combined program with University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin; Duke University in Durham, North Carolina; and Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dr. Opoku-Boateng is recognized with a Focused Practice Designation from the American Board of Surgery in adult complex thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

Elliot J. Scott, MD, is a board-certified endocrine surgeon at Ochsner Health who is dedicated to treating patients in Raceland, New Orleans and Kenner, Louisiana.
