Dr. Babycos is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and has been on staff at Ochsner since 1995. He is board certified in surgery and plastic surgery. Dr. Babycos specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery with specific interests in craniofacial and cosmetic surgery including aesthetic, breast, and reconstructive surgeries.

Meredith Collins, MD, FACS, specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, with a focus in breast surgery at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. She serves as the chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans. Dr. Collins specializes in breast surgery, including reconstructive surgery for breast cancer, cosmetic breast procedures and pediatric breast surgery. She has a particular interest in cancer care and completed her reconstructive microsurgery fellowship at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She performs microsurgical breast reconstruction such as deep inferior epigastric perforator and profunda artery perforator flaps, as well as implant-based and oncoplastic breast reconstruction. Dr. Collins is considered a renowned expert in aesthetic breast reconstruction.

Dr. Collins earned her medical degree and graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2008. She completed her plastic surgery training at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, in 2014 and her fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston in 2015. Dr. Collins is active in both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery and has served on numerous committees and presented her work at national meetings for each organization. Dr. Collins also is passionate about educating the next generation of physicians, including medical students, residents and fellows. She previously served as a Microsurgery Fellowship director.

Dr. Gimenez earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans and completed his integrated plastic surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, training at leading institutions such as MD Anderson Cancer Center. He then pursued a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the University of Southern California,. There he advanced his expertise in breast reconstruction, including DIEP, PAP and LAP flaps, implant-based and oncoplastic techniques and neurotization to restore sensation. He also specializes in innovative lymphedema treatments, including lymphovenous bypass, lymph node transfer and liposuction.

Offering the full spectrum of plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Gimenez is committed to compassionate, patient-centered care. He listens closely, guides thoughtfully, and strives to deliver natural results tailored to each individual’s goals.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Gimenez contributes to research and education, mentoring trainees and presenting internationally.

Adam Hauch, MD, MBA, FACS, practices plastic and reconstructive surgery at Ochsner Health. Dr. Hauch has advanced expertise in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, offering compassionate and comprehensive care for various medical, surgical and cosmetic needs.

Dr. Hauch earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, in 2011. He then completed his general surgery internship and residency at Tulane University in New Orleans. Following this, he completed his plastic surgery residency at University of California San Diego. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in aesthetic surgery as well as reconstructive microsurgery at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Dr. Hauch is double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Hauch holds membership and actively participates in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Aesthetic Society.

Dr. Hauch has a special interest in aesthetic surgery, performing a full range of surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Additionally, he performs complex reconstruction of defects resulting from cancer, trauma or infection including breast reconstruction and limb salvage.

Dr. Christopher Smith specializes in reconstructive plastic surgery with a focus in breast cancer reconstruction at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Smith received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine in 2014. He went on to complete his general surgery internship and residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He completed his fellowship in plastic surgery at the combined Tulane University/Ochsner Clinic Program. While there, he received extensive training in implant-based and microsurgical breast reconstruction . Dr. Smith is double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He started on staff at Ochsner in 2022. Dr. Smith has a special interest in microsurgery. He performs the full range of breast reconstruction techniques. This includes: a variety of flaps that use the patients own tissue (DIEP, PAP, TDAP, GAP), breast reconstruction with implants, partial breast reconstruction and revision procedures. Dr. Smith performs complex reconstruction of defects resulting from cancer surgery from head to toe. He is also responsible for performing limb saving procedures for wounds resulting from trauma or chronic infection.

Shoichiro Tanaka, MD, MPH, is a plastic, reconstructive, and hand Surgeon at Ochsner Health. Dr. Tanaka has expertise in aesthetic surgery, head-to-toe reconstruction for cancer, trauma, and infection, as well as complex hand and wrist surgery, limb salvage, and peripheral nerve surgery, offering comprehensive patient-centered care for various medical and surgical needs.

Dr. Tanaka earned his medical degree from Texas A&M University College of Medicine and went on to complete his general surgery residency at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans. He completed his plastic surgery training at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio, and then pursued a hand and microsurgery fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Plastic Surgery, and has a Subspecialty Certification in Hand Surgery. Dr. Tanaka actively participates in the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, International Plastic Surgery Research Council, and European Facial Plastic Surgery to stay updated on medical advancements.
