Our Residents - Anesthesiology Residency Program

When interviewing for residency, not many programs demonstrated such a strong level of camaraderie and support between the residency classes. Only after starting my training here did I realize that this extended to the staff as well. Not only are they excellent mentors in the OR, they respect us as peers and are easily considered friends. Social events, children’s birthday parties, etc., it would not be uncommon to see a few staff invited with their families. As a 4th-year medical student, my goal was to find a residency program that would challenge me clinically while allowing me to maintain a work life balance. After doing an away rotation at Ochsner I realized the residents were on par with and usually exceeded other top programs in the region. Not only was I impressed by their clinical capabilities, but also by the camaraderie in the program. I had a fantastic residency experience and decided to continue my education at Ochsner as the Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesia Fellow and am fortunate enough to remain as staff.
