Psychiatry Residency Program

In July 1999, the Psychiatry Residency Program of Ochsner Health and Louisiana State University merged to offer an opportunity to train in a stimulating environment where teaching and clinical practice are evenly balanced.

• The wide-ranging clinical and research interests of the Ochsner and LSU staff, along with the diversity of clinical settings, provide a multifaceted training experience for the psychiatric resident.
• In addition to an extensive seminar and grand rounds schedule, the Department of Psychiatry sponsors an active monthly lecture series, which brings renowned psychiatrists to Ochsner.
• Supervision by senior Ochsner faculty throughout the residency is a cornerstone of our program, which provides a close working relationship between residents and supervisors.
• Numerous opportunities for both formal and informal supervision provide the resident with a rich learning experience.
