Ochsner GME Recognized for AIAMC National Initiative on JEDI

Ochsner Graduate Medical Education was honored March 24, 2023 at the Alliance of Independent Academic Medical Centers (AIAMC) annual awards dinner in Nashville, TN for their successful completion of a National Initiative on JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion.

Rajiv Gala, MD accepted the award and is pictured with AIAMC National Initiative Co-Chairs Ginny Mohl, MD, PhD, from the Billings Clinic in Montana, and David Kountz, MD, MBA, MACP, of Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey.

Ochsner was selected in 2021 for the 18-month Initiative, with their project Redesigning Recruitment in Health Care. A leadership team from Ochsner collaborated with select hospitals from across the United States in developing and implementing a JEDI plan that positively impacted both individual performance and institutional culture.

The team members on the project, included Dr. Gala, Ron Amedee, MD, Carl Tholen, Donna Guidroz, Brittany Ducote, Jose Posas, MD, Anna White, MD, and Shelly Monks.

The AIAMC is the only national organization addressing the unique needs of independent academic medical centers. AIAMC has approximately 70 hospital/health system members and a 34-year track record of connecting graduate medical education as a strategic asset for achieving better outcomes.
